The world premiere of the Golf 6 gave the press the opportunity to test drive the new model – in the mountains of Reykjavik. Exclusive pavilions were set up in which journalists could learn about the new Golf during the course of a fortnight. There was a press conference and an evening dinner every day, and journalists were invited to test drive the new offering from VW.

OUR TASK

KLEE developed the technical concept for the event and oversaw it from the first ground-breaking until the area was restored to its original state at the end of the press launch. We were responsible for planning and monitoring the rigging, light, sound and video technology, providing the electricity for the event, and also arranging the evening entertainment programme.

MAIN CHALLENGES

  • Storms and volcanic eruptions over Iceland.
  • Difficult logistical conditions on site.
