Reconfiguration of Main Hall UdK (Berlin/D)
Transforming a university refectory into a modern multi-purpose space requires no little technical and architectonic skill.
In 2010, the Berlin Association for Student Affairs transformed the old refectory of the Technical University of Berlin into a modern, multipurpose space for putting on events. Besides the architectonic measures, event technology equipment was inserted into the existing structure.
OUR TASK
KLEE developed a concept for the multifunctional use of the existing space. We also organized a tendering process in accordance with German building regulations and took responsibility for management of the necessary technical adaptations.
MAIN CHALLENGES
- To integrate modern light, sound and video technology into the existing building and existing technological infrastructure.
- To make the technology easy to operate for a wide range of users – from technicians to those with no technical knowledge at all.
